  • 27 January 2022:  Dr Xavier Ichani participated in the international online workshop “Community based conflict management in urban and rural areas of East Africa,” 27 January 2022. The workshop was organized in collaboration between Uppsala University (Department of Peace and Conflict Research) and Kenyatta University (School of Security, Diplomacy and Peace Studies). Dr Ichani presented a paper on the theme “Economic interventions and peace building in conflict affected communities in rural Kenya,” and served as a discussant on one paper. In addition, he participated actively and constructively with comments and questions throughout the workshop.
  • 26-27 May 2020 : Dr Xavier Ichani participated in the international online workshop “Community based responses to violent conflict: Actors and strategies,” 26-27 May 2020. The workshop was organized in collaboration between Uppsala University (Department of Peace and Conflict Research) and Kenyatta University (School of Security, Diplomacy and Peace Studies). Dr Ichani presented a paper on the theme “Ethics in Internal Military Intervention: An evaluation of State Response on Intra-Communal Conflict among the Sabaot of Mount Elgon Sub-county, Bungoma County, Kenya,” and served as a discussant on a panel with papers on water-related communal conflict. In addition, he participated actively and constructively with comments and questions throughout the workshop.
